Looking for a way to make this summer fun and meaningful for your child? Give them the gift of language! From July 2 to August 1, 2025, the Ottawa Catholic School Board’s Summer International & Indigenous Languages Program—Elementary offers an exciting chance to learn a new language or strengthen their home language in an engaging and interactive environment.
Through music, art, storytelling, and cultural exploration, children will build confidence, expand their horizons, and develop valuable language skills—all while making new friends and having fun!
Summer language classes are available for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 students, regardless of their school board. These classes are ideal for those who want to improve their home language skills or learn new languages. The classes are open to all Ontario residents and offer an inclusive learning environment. Best of all, these classes are absolutely free for Ontario residents.
Registration Deadline
Language classes fill up quickly, so register your child by June 17, 2025, to secure a spot in the program!
Virtual or In-Person
In-Person Classes
This program offers classes at various school locations around Ottawa for students in JK-Grade 8 in the 2024-2025 school year. Afternoon camps are available at some locations.
In-Person Morning Program: 9:00 am – 11:30 am (Paid early drop-off option: 8:00 am – 9:00 am)
Afternoon Camps: 11:30 am – 5:30 pm
Virtual Classes
The Virtual Morning Program is for students in JK-Grade 8, and the Virtual Afternoon Program is for Grades 2-8. The classes are delivered online using Google Meet for synchronous learning. Students are required to have a device (Chromebook, laptop) and access to the internet.
Virtual Morning Program: 9:00 am – 11:30 am
Virtual Afternoon Program: 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm
