Summer School 2017

Open to students from all school boards.

Classes run from July 5 - 26 (inclusive)

Registration will start as of May 1 to June 28th, 2017

Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until classes are full.

All classes are conditional upon sufficient enrollment and are subject to cancellation or transfer to an alternate location.


You will be contacted by Continuing Education only if the course is cancelled.

  • Students currently attending a high school must be recommended for summer school by their day school principal (or designate).
  • Adults must provide proof of prerequisite through transcript or report card. Those adults who do not have transcripts or have attended a non-Ontario high school will have to call 613-723-7757 prior to registering.

NO subsidized OC Transpo passes available for high school credit students.


NO book deposit or consumable fees.



  View Reach Ahead course offerings  

Reach Ahead courses will run from July 5 - July 26. These courses enable students to obtain a full credit towards their diploma.  Online Reach Ahead courses are teacher-supported and students will be required to meet with their teacher at least 3 times during the course: first day, mid-term and final exam. Teachers will be available to meet with students in school locations listed for the duration of the course. Students can only enroll in one Reach Ahead course.


  View Credit Recovery course offerings   

Credit Recovery Achievement Centre will run from July 5 to July 19. This program will enable students who have not been successful during the regular school year to recover one full credit.  It is recommended that students have obtained a minimum standing of 35% in the original course. Students must be recommended by the home school Credit Recovery Team to participate in this program.


Please note: our summer school schedule will not be modified to accomodate personal summer plans.
Final exams are compulsory and
MUST be written on
Tuesday, July 25
On Wednesday, July 26, students will have their final opportunity to discuss marks and final exams/RSTs with their teachers.

Numeracy/Literacy Skills Development program

For students currently in grade 6, 7 or 8.  This program will run from July 5 - July 26 from 8:30 am-12:00 pm at Holy Trinity HS, St. Pius X HS and Immaculata HS. This program is designed to enhance the literacy and numeracy skills of students who are presently achieving at level 2 or lower, and are at a risk. In this program, students receive encouragement, gain confidence and learn how to improve reading, writing, numeracy, study and organizational skills required for success. 
NOTE: Transportation is offered ONLY for Grades 7, 8 & 9 Numeracy/Literacy Students. 

Specialist High Skills Major Co-operative Education

Current SHSM students can speak to their home school guidance counsellor for information.
