ESL/LINC  2021 – 2022 Registration is OPEN
 
ALL Classes will be conducted online until the start of the winter term, January 31, 2022.

 

Please Note:

    • The schedule and locations for the 2021 – 2022 school year are subject to change depending on directions from Ottawa Public Health or other factors at the school board.
    • Classes will include online components and learners should be prepared to participate in online sessions or complete online assignments. Learners should have access to a computer/laptop/tablet. 
    • CLB 5 - 9 classes are online. 
    • Skills classes will be offered in a hybrid mode (part in-class, part online)

After you have registered for our ESL or LINC program you will receive a Welcome email with information about your class and your instructor. We will also provide you with a school board email account that you can use to access online learning space, receive materials and assignments from your instructor, and communicate with your classmates when working in groups.

 

Your school board email address and a password will be sent to your personal email address.

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada
The LINC program is funded by the Government of Canada and is for adults, 18 years and older who are Permanent Residents or Convention Refugees. Refugee claimants and Canadian Citizens are not eligible for the LINC program.
Students in the LINC program are provided with language training and settlement skills and basic pre-employment skills.

  • proof of your status in Canada
  • proof of your current Ontario address (e.g., phone, gas, hydro bill)
  • referral documents from Y-LARC*
  • proof of immunization for children (if they are attending our childcare program).

ESL/LINC Registration Fees

Newcomers in Ontario are eligible for language training at no cost. Eligibility must be verified when registering for a class.

 

ESL FEES (due at registration)

 

All learners pay material fees:
   $25 Part-time (15 hours/week) material fee per year
  $30 Full-time (30 hours/week) material fee per year
  $10 Night classes
  $5 Saturday classes

NO material fees

to be paid for

2021 – 2022 school year.

All newcomers who are Quebec residents will be charged a tuition fee to attend ESL classes.
Visitor/Diplomat Fees/International Students Fees:    
• Non-refundable fee of $75 for registration (OCSB locations only)
• Material fee (if applicable)
• Tuition:
 

Day Classes:  
$4,000 per year for 15 hours a week ($400 monthly instalment) or
$8,000 per year for 30 hours a week ($800 monthly instalment) 

 

Night Classes: 

$2,000 per year for 8 hours a week ($200 monthly instalment) or
$4,000 per year for 16 hours a week ($400 monthly instalment) 

 

Saturday Classes: 

$800 per year ($80 monthly instalment)

Cancellation Fee

In case of cancellation students are charged either 15% of tuition paid or $50, whichever  amount  is less.
