Ditch the Workout - Try Zumba!
If you are tired with the old workout, enjoy a taste of this exciting fitness trend! The class is FUN and fast-paced, using dance steps from salsa, merengue, belly dancing, reggaeton and other international music combined with fitness moves for a complete workout. All you need are your running shoes, and some water and be prepared to have tons of fun and get a total body workout at the same time. Instructor: Carolina Izaguirre

Coloured Pencil Painting Workshops

Please note for all of the Workshops you have the option to work on the project as described for each OR to bring your own project to work on in the class with the benefit of having an instructor present for consultation. The prerequisite for all workshops is the completion of the Beginner Coloured Pencil Painting course or an advanced knowledge of coloured pencil techniques. Step 2 Marbles:  An approach to colour and value based on the time tested traditions of the old masters. By starting with an under-painting of complementary colours and gradually building layer upon layer, your final colours will be richer and more brilliant. The teaching technique used in this course is from Masterful Color by Arlene Steinberg.

Step 3 Fur and Feathers:  Working on black paper learn the intricacies of layering coloured pencil to create lifelike fur and realistic eyes while working on a beautiful fawn. Learn the technique for developing feathers on a chickadee in your second project. As well you will be introduced to using soft pastels in the background of both paintings.

Beginner Coloured Pencil Paintings for Senior & Adults
You don't need to be an artist to create coloured pencil paintings that look like oil paintings. Learn basic art principles of composition and colour with a medium that is inexpensive, uncomplicated, clean to use, and easy to store.

Advanced Coloured Pencil Paintings for Senior & Adults 
Explore the dramatic effects of coloured pencil on black water colour paper while learning even more subtleties of pencil technique. Prerequisite 'Beginner Coloured Pencil Painting' or a comfortable knowledge of coloured pencil techniques.

Fresh Floral Design
The fragrance and the style of floral designs will greatly accentuate the decor of today’s homes and offices. Using fresh flowers and foliage, you will be creating 3 brand new designs for the Fall of 2017. You will learn the key elements and principles of floral design. The techniques of cutting, preserving and preparing fresh flowers will also be discussed. The satisfaction of creating your own design is enormous. Bring your own scissors, a brown shopping bag, a coffee mug, and a tea towel to each class. A supply fee of $100 for flowers, foliage and containers, is payable to instructor at the first class. No prerequisites needed.

Ikebana, Japanese Flower Arranging
The ancient art of Japanese floral arrangement enhances the natural beauty of flowers and foliage through the use of pace, line, colour and rhythm. You will learn the history and principles of this art form through 3 Japanese floral design styles.  We will be using an array of flowers and plant materials, these designs will demonstrate the elements and principles of Japanese floral design, for the Spring of 2017. Bring your own flower cutters, a coffee mug, a hand towel and a brown shopping bag to each class. A supply fee of $55 for flowers and foliage is payable to the instructor at the first class. Bring your own flat container (approx. 10-12 inch long x 4-6 inch wide x 2-3 inch deep) and a kenzan (needle holder/frog). The instructor will be in contact with you before the class to answer questions you may have. No prerequisites needed. Iris Waung

Christmas Wreath with Fresh Bough
A very unique wreath for you front door or wall for 2017 Christmas holiday! We will be using fresh pine, B.C. cedar, seeded eucalyptus, salal leaves, cinnamon sticks, red berries, pinecones, red/gold Christmas decorations/ornaments with matching bow. This distinctive Christmas ornament is fun and easy to make, either for you or as a gift. You will enjoy this beautiful hand-made fresh wreath until midwinter. Some man-made materials can be reused for years to come and all you have to do is add the fresh boughs. A supply fee of $42 is payable to the instructor at the class. Please bring your own wire cutters, a pair of scissors, a coffee mug, a hand towel and a brown paper shopping bag to class. Iris Waung.

Christmas Outdoor Planter with Fresh Boughs
You will enjoy making this Christmas arrangement in a planter for your front door!!  We will be using birch poles, fresh white pine boughs, B.C. cedar, red dog wood branches, seeded eucalyptus, salal leaves and decorate with many Christmas ornaments, pine cones. This arrangement will enhance your front door and add a winter beauty to your house during this festive season. Some man-made ornaments can be reused for years to come and all you have to do is add the fresh boughs!! A material fee of $48 is payable to instructor during class. Anyone is welcome to join and no experience is required! Bring your own pruners, wire cutters, a coffee mug, and a box/container (approx. 10 inches wide x 10 inches deep) to class. This arrangement can be fitted into a round or square opening decorative outer urn or by itself.

Christmas Mantel Piece
You will enjoy this very flexible Christmas arrangement on your fire place mantel. We will be using fresh pine boughs, B.C. cedar, pine cones, salal leaves, birch branches, dogwood branches, seeded eucalyptus, red berries, and many Christmas ornaments to enhance the design. This festive design will be rectangular in shape, approximately 15"-18" (length) x 9" (width) x 20"-22" (height). You may also put this arrangement on your buffet table, on your floor by the fire place or by the entrance hall way. It can be placed indoor or outdoor as well. A supply fee of $43 is payable to instructor during the workshop. Please bring your own scissors, wire cutters, pruners, a tea towel, a coffee mug and a box/container to bring your design home. Iris Waung.

ChristmasTable Centre with Fresh Boughs & Fresh Flowers 
A specially designed floral setting will be the perfect compliment for your 2017 Christmas table. We will be designing a centerpiece with fresh flowers, horse tails, pine boughs, pine cones and some man-made Christmas decorations. You will be learning the techniques of cutting and caring for the delicate fresh flowers. You will create a table center for either your dining room table, coffee table or buffet table. It is easy and fun to make. A supply fee of $43 is payable to the instructor at the class.  Please bring a mug, your own scissors, a pair of  wire cutters, and a box (approx. 12"x12"), to class. Iris Waung.

Monique Total Body Bootcamp for Women

Monique Total Body Bootcamp is a training circuit design to expose the participant to a variety of resistance training technique. You will be exposed to 24 different exercises in one session. The exercises are a combination of cardio, core and strength building exercises. It is great for those who want to improve their cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance quickly.
